Electrical safety inspections.
A documented look at the panel, circuits, grounding, and devices — before a purchase, a renovation, or a suspected problem.
What an inspection covers
An electrical safety inspection is an assessment, not a repair visit. It establishes the condition of the system and what, if anything, needs attention — with the reasoning written down rather than delivered as a verbal warning.
It is most useful before buying a property, before committing to a renovation or tenant improvement budget, or when something about the system has started to feel wrong.
- Panel condition, breaker sizing, and available capacity
- Grounding and bonding
- Visible wiring condition and identification of obsolete methods
- Device, receptacle, and GFCI/AFCI protection checks
- A written summary of findings and recommended next steps
What an inspection is not
This is a contractor's assessment of the electrical system. It is not a Technical Safety BC inspection of permitted work, and it is not a home inspection covering other building systems.
If the assessment turns up work that requires a permit, that is stated plainly along with what it involves.
Common questions
Is this the same as a home inspection?
No. A home inspection covers the whole building at a general level. This is an electrical-specific assessment carried out by a licensed electrical contractor.
Can you inspect before I buy a property?
Yes, subject to access. Pre-purchase electrical assessments are one of the most common reasons this service is requested.
Do I get something in writing?
Yes. You receive a written summary of what was found and what is recommended, so it can be used in a purchase decision or a renovation budget.
